Artistic prints of multigenerational photos from Rose’s family. These images are created as citrisal transfers. Each piece is woven together using two photos taken from family albums. One, a photo of my step mom, her mother, sliced together with a photo of my mom, and her mother. The other two versions of my two mother figures as younger. I consider these pieces to be an exploration of girlhood through the generations that have molded me into the type of woman I am today. Each generation, blood or law, offers different experiences, different styles of nurture that have been combined together in order to nurture myself. My girlhood is understood through understanding each generation, I am but a mold of what each has given me.
